Ford F-150 Lightning review

I heard this week that the Ford dealership in East Wenatchee had received a Ford Lightning on the lot so I drove over to take a look. They took a copy of my drivers license, handed me the keys and let me take it for a spin. My overall impression is that it is nice rig. It is smoother and takes the bumps better than my Model 3, although not as quick. I love all of the electrical outlets that are in the frunk and in the back of the truck. It even has a 240 outlet that could be used to power a Level 2 charger if an electric vehicle ran out of juice and needed a charge to get to the next charging station. It would make a great construction rig for homebuilders.

The list price was $81,000 and gets about 0.49 kWh/Mile. I calculated that at our electric rates, $3.50 per gallon and 12,000 miles per year, the rig would save about $10,000, not $1,750 as shown on the sticker, in fuel over a five year period.
